NIPAF (Nippon International Performance Art Festival) started in 1993 in Nagano, as first international performance art festival in Asia. The annual International Festival of Contemporary Arts - City of Women takes place at the beginning of October. ACT ART is an annual interdisciplinary art event which takes place annually.
